Energy Performance Contracts: driving energy renovation projects

Reducing the energy consumption of buildings while increasing the value of assets, boosting local employment for operation and maintenance and improving the comfort of occupants. Energy Performance Contracts (CPE) are meeting their target market by setting an example with the obligation to deliver results in energy performance. They are becoming increasingly common thanks to a growing number of stakeholders (project owners and operators) benefiting from these contracts. The CPE Observatory monitors this trend. In June 2017, a meeting organized by ADEME (the French Environment and Energy Management Agency) CEREMA (Center for the Study and Expertise of Risks, the Environment, Mobility and Development) and the CSTB was an opportunity to review and share the lessons of 250 CPEs with more than 90 stakeholders of the construction industry. In 2018, the objective of the CPE Observatory is to support broader use of these contracts and to continue fostering a dialogue with the stakeholders on the ground, to promote wider adoption.
