Mobilized around the social, environmental and economic challenges related to its activities, the CSTB is committed to a process of continuous improvement.

For many years, its actions and management system have focused on reducing the energy consumption of its operations.

ISO 50001:2011 “Energy management systems” certification (view the certificate) at the Marne-la-Vallée and Nantes facilities demonstrates the permanent commitment of the CSTB to energy performance. It attests to the implementation of a cycle of continuous improvement to optimize energy consumption

In addition, the CSTB is a signatory to the French Sustainable Development Charter for public establishments and undertakings. In this framework, concrete actions have been taken to reduce business travel, promote videoconferencing and use low-impact mobility for commuting between home and work (Company Mobility Plan).

For human resources, the CSTB is rated among the top 500 best employers in France in 2018, published by the financial magazine Capital. In the general rankings, the CSTB achieved a double performance: it is 133rd among the top 500 employers, up 33 places compared with 2017 and in the rankings of the public research sector, it rose from 4^th to 2^nd place.
