Bioguess hunting down invisible mold

One of the most important applications of the Bioguess fungal diagnostic kit is the preservation of cultural heritage assets. The kit was used in 2017 in a Paris museum by the maintenance crew in an emergency situation. An exhibition room had been affected by water ingress. After disinfection of the partition wall that had developed mold, the Bioguess diagnostic kit helped locate remaining infested areas, even when the mold was invisible. A new treatment was then applied by the museum to protect the artworks on display. The CSTB developed and patented the diagnostic kit, which includes a pump connected to one or more air sampling tubes. An analysis report is then sent to the client. In addition to this type of intervention, Bioguess, a CSTB subsidiary, will begin offering a continuous monitoring service in 2018. The detector signals the development of mold or dry rot in a building at an early stage.
