Developing the E+C- Observatory for exemplary buildings

A collective approach that brings public authorities together with the stakeholders of the market, the E+C- (E+ for positive energy, C- for carbon reduction) experiment aims to test the new energy and environmental standard for buildings, in order to ensure its technical feasibility and economic sustainability. The Observatory involved in this experiment is continuing to make progress, with 107 buildings identified at the end of February 2018. Its database, managed by the CSTB, collects energy and carbon data about the operations being analyzed. It compiles feedback about the new “Energy-Carbon” standard to support the upskilling of professionals and prepare for future regulations. These professionals can highlight the performance of their projects through the E+C- accreditation or use the Observatory’s conclusions to showcase their voluntary commitment to developing exemplary buildings.
