24_th French-Japanese Symposium on Buildings

Hosted by the CSTB from November 30 to December 2, 2016, in Paris, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment, Energy and the Sea (MEER), Ministry of Housing and Sustainable Habitat (MLHD) and the Japanese Housing Ministry, Building Center of Japan (BCJ) and the Building Research Institute (BRI), the event was co-chaired by Étienne Crépon, president of the CSTB, and Kimihiro Hashimoto, president of BCJ.

During the symposium, CSTB experts presented their work on:
• Adaptation of the built environment to aging populations: assessment of products and systems, innovation in building design, evacuation of people in case of fire
• Health and Buildings: quality and purification of indoor air, thermal comfort
• Construction quality: reduction of construction accidents, role of technical assessment and certification

The 25_th symposium will take place in 2018 in Tokyo.
