    The Land and Housing Institute (LHI) and the CSTB signed a partnership agreement in February 2016 covering three areas: energy, acoustics and digital technologies. The program includes:
  • Net-zero energy buildings (equivalent to positive energy buildings in France);
  • Sound comfort in buildings (reduction of noise emitted from hydraulic equipment); and
  • Development of connected objects to improve the quality of life of vulnerable people in their homes.

In 2017, R&D in acoustics will take priority with the CSTB. Ultimately, LHI wants to benefit from the CSTB’s expertise to set up multidisciplinary test laboratories devoted to the construction industry.

The agreement with LHI strengthens the CSTB’s presence in Korea, where, since 2006, it has been a partner of the Korea Institute of Construction Technology (KICT), a government body devoted to construction.
