Changes in classifications associated with NF certification

The CSTB offers usage classifications associated with the NF mark. Among them, the ECAU classification was modified in 2017 to include all sanitary tapware products. Also, it now bears the “M” extension, becoming ECAU-M for products related to the medical field. A technical guide on hospitalization is being prepared to help project owners identify products for hospitals and healthcare institutions. Another priority of the CSTB in 2017 concerned the changes in the classification for windows. The AEV classification—widely used to characterize air, water, and wind performance— now includes additional characteristics to facilitate the drafting of specifications for these increasingly technical products.
