Multi-scale BIM for the Marseille metropolis

The Euroméditerranée Public Urban Development Agency (EPAEM) is working with the CSTB on a comprehensive BIM-CIM digital initiative. In 2017, the CSTB set up the digital platform of the EPAEM territory and is now integrating two local development projects in OpenBIM format. One is Les Fabriques, a district in the north of the territory, and a demonstrator of its eco-city initiative. The other is the construction of the Ruffi school complex in Marseille. The advances in BIM-CIM give the urban developer an overall vision of the current and future situation. Projects can be checked for compliance with the requirements of the program, while ensuring consistency between the public space projects (energy networks, roadways, street furniture, etc.) and private housing block projects (structural work of buildings). The CSTB will enrich the digital platform for BIM-CIM projects until they are fully operational. By exploiting and cross-referencing the data, the platform offers decision-makers an efficient tool.
