First step towards BIM for the medical center in Brest
The Regional University Medical Center (CHRU) of Brest enlisted the help of the CSTB to take advantage of the opportunities offered by BIM for operating its buildings and facilities. In 2016, the CSTB carried out an audit of the technical software being used at the time by the CHRU, and assessed the possibility of combining them with a BIM database. Offering sound comfort and energy performance to the EcoCity in Champs-sur-Marne

Results of the CITYOPT project in Nice, or how to reduce power consumption on a city-wide scale
In the winter of 2016, 140 volunteer households in Nice achieved savings of 28% on their power consumption between 6 pm and 8 pm. This is one of the outcomes of the CITYOPT project which tested a “social energy network” to improve control over the demand for electricity during peak hours.
Winners of the BIM 2016 Contest: focusing on architectural quality and the BIM process
The winning architectural designs of the BIM 2016 contest, organized by Polantis, were commended by the judges at the award ceremony on April 7. The winning projects include openings onto the city of Bobigny and the banks of the Ourcq Canal, a play with volumes and the use of environmental innovations.

Digital BIM for the new Ajaccio hospital
From design to full use, the construction of the new hospital in Ajaccio uses digital building information modeling (BIM). This pioneering project, conducted with the support of the CSTB as part of a project management consortium, is testing a new way of working using the advantages of digital technologies. EPA Bordeaux-Euratlantique and the CSTB sign a research and development agreement
On June 24, in Bordeaux, at the Congress of the Fédération des Promoteurs Immobiliers de France (federation of real estate developers of France), in the presence of François Payelle, President of the federation, Stephan de Faÿ, Managing Director of Général de l'Etablissement Public d'Aménagement (Public Planning and Development authority) of Bordeaux-Euratlantique, and Étienne Crépon, President of the Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (CSTB) signed an agreement on R&D in the field of design and management of the smart city.
University of La Rochelle, CNRS and the CSTB jointly planning research
The University of La Rochelle, the CNRS and the CSTB are using their combined expertise for research on buildings. In Paris, on June 17, 2015, Étienne Crépon, president of CSTB, Gérard Blanchard, president of the University of La Rochelle and Marie-Yvonne Perrin, deputy scientific director of the CNRS Institute for INSIS (Engineering and Systems Sciences), signed an agreement for a research partnership focusing on four areas: sustainable buildings; uses, health and comfort in indoor environments and design methods; risk mitigation; and digital simulation and tools.
