A research workshop of the Fondation Bâtiment Énergie, coordinated by the CSTB and involving the MECD Institute for the management of a project on reuse, has developed eight guides to increase the reliability of residual performance of eight product families for their reuse in new construction after removal from demolition sites.
Because the building industry is resource intensive and produces a lot of waste, it is an important sector for the circular economy. The CSTB is working with its partners to advance the reuse of building materials. Recycling programs for demolition waste are gradually being set up, and the reuse of components is gaining momentum
