On June 24, in Bordeaux, at the Congress of the Fédération des Promoteurs Immobiliers de France (federation of real estate developers of France), in the presence of François Payelle, President of the federation, Stephan de Faÿ, Managing Director of the Etablissement Public d'Aménagement (Public Planning and Development authority) of Bordeaux-Euratlantique, and Étienne Crépon, President of the Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment (CSTB) signed an agreement on R&D in the field of design and management of the smart city.

This partnership, focused on the deployment of innovative digital approaches and tools in several projects of the Bordeaux-Euratlantique OIN (Operations of National Interest), seeks to establish a technical representation of the city and its buildings (walls, colors, cabling, piping, etc.) using a multi-scale digital model (BIM, building and CIM, city). Digital modeling of the “Belvédère” development project in the Garonne Eiffel neighborhood will also be made possible. This site is on the right bank of the Garonne River and will be the driver for the deployment of the smart city.

The CSTB provides its expertise in software platforms and simulation tools as well as its know-how and neutrality in issues concerning interoperability and the Bordeaux-Euratlantique open data. For this stakeholder, as well as other local authorities, such collaboration is another step toward improving the quality of urban projects. It will help demonstrate the economic relevance and gains that digital modeling can achieve in the sustainable management of the city of tomorrow.
