Committed to sustainable development, the CSTB is mobilized around the social, environmental and economic challenges relating to its activities. It has been working for several years to reduce the energy consumption and environmental footprint of its sites thanks to energy savings and reduced carbon emissions of its buildings. Another commitment centers on optimizing the services it provides to its clients and partners, with the priority of meeting their expectations with pertinent and effective solutions.

Committed to earning the confidence of its stakeholders, the CSTB meets these requirements while upholding its ethical principles. All of the staff and management apply these principles in their daily activities.

In 2016, the CSTB’s progress was rewarded with renewal of its ISO 9001 certification, covering all of the activities of the CSTB. This recognizes the high quality of its management practices, while encouraging the improvement of the organization, which must remain simple to guarantee collective efficiency.

The CSTB is renowned for its energy management. In 2016, the sites of Marne-la-Vallée and Nantes successfully passed the audit to maintain the ISO 50 001 certification.

This rewarded the actions put in place to improve the performance and management of the energy resources of the CSTB's building stock.

The ISO 9001 and 50 001 certifications supplement the industry accreditations COFRAC, IAS and MEASNET, for the activities of testing, calibration and certification. These were also maintained in 2016.
