The European Laboratory of Building Acoustics

The European Laboratory of Building Acoustics at CSTB Marne-la-Vallée is a large ultra-modern acoustic test facility, independent and COFRAC accredited (ISO 17025 Standard). It comprises nine test stations on 2000 m² to test products derived from building or industry, including the highest performing products, as quickly as possible and in accordance with European and international standards.

Our tests

The indices characterizing your products are determined according to the current European standards.

  • Absorption coefficient in normal incidence according the NF EN ISO 10534-2 measured in the SIGMA chamber.
  • Improvement of sound reduction index by linings, ∆R according the NF EN ISO 10140-1 and 2 standard, measured in the MEGA chamber and evaluated according the NF EN ISO 717-1 standard.
  • Element-normalized level difference,  Dn,e, Isolement acoustique normalisé d’une entrée d’air Dn,e, according the NF EN ISO 10140-1 and 2 standard completed, for the air inlet, with the NF P 50 402 standards, and the technical rules of the certification “NF entrée d’air”, measured in the MEGA chamber and evaluated according to the NF EN ISO 717-1 standard.
  • Improvement of impact sound insulation, ∆L according the NF EN ISO 10140-1 and 3 standard, measured in the DELTA chamber or according the NF EN ISO 16251-1 standard, measured in the DELTA’ chamber and evaluated according to the NF EN ISO 717-2 standard.
  • Improvement of impact sound insulation on lightweight floor, ∆Lti according the NF EN ISO 10140-1 and 3 standard, measured in the DELTA chamber.
  • Walking noise level, Ln,e according the NF S 31 074 standard, measured in the DELTA chamber.
  • Rainfall noise level, Li according the NF EN ISO 10140-1 amd2 and NF EN ISO 10140-5 amd1 standard, measured in the DELTA chamber.
  • Airborne sound level power, Lw according the NF EN ISO 3741 standard, measured in the ALPHA chamber.
  • Airborne sound level power, LwA and structureborne sound level power, LwS according the NF EN ISO 15657-1 standard, measured in the DELTA chamber.
  • Air flow resistivity, r according the NF EN 29053 standard, measured in the SIGMA chamber.
  • Dynamic stifness, S’ according the NF EN 29052-1 standard, measured in the SIGMA chamber.
  • Dynamic young modulus of a laminated glazing (and generalised to all type of plate), according the NF EN ISO 16940 standard, measured in the SIGMA chamber.
  • Dynamic young modulus, according the NF EN ISO 14146 standard and ETAG 04, measured in the SIGMA chamber.
