Transport acoustics

For many years, the Acoustic and Lighting department focuses on comfort problems within transportation vehicles.

It has developed simulation models (based on asymptotic methods, or ray tracing methods) to assess the interior noise levelsas well as intelligibility in cockpits. These methods take into account the actual operating conditions of vehicles and can be enhanced by measurements on the equipment.

Outside the vehicle, the same simulation methods allows studying complex effects of diffraction and estimating the effects of installation, for example in aeronautics.
