New management for CSTB

Bertrand Delcambre, President

Bertrand Delcambre, 57 years old, graduated from the Ponts et Chaussées School as a General Engineer, has been appointed as Chairman of the CSTB Board of Directors, by a Presidential Decree dated November 12, 2008.  He thus succeeds Alain Maugard as President of CSTB.

Bertrand Delcambre joined CSTB in 1978 and was the Director since 2001.

Bertrand Delcambre's strategic policy will be consistent with the policy adopted during recent years, with the emphasis largely on innovation and quality of construction products and techniques, energy performance, management of natural or accidental risks, and the prevention of environmental and health risks.

Carole Le Gall, Managing Director

Carole Le Gall has been the CSTB Managing Director since December 1, 2008.  She is Chief Engineer at the Corps des Mines, and in May 2006, she became Director of ADEME (Agence de l'Environnement et de la Maîtrise de l'Energie – Environment and Energy Management Agency) responsible for definition of the strategy and action plan in the Energy, Air and Noise fields.  She was responsible for management of technical teams at the head office and reported directly to Chantal Jouanno, President of the ADEME.

"I have had the opportunity to work with CSTB teams, she says, and particularly during the important debates at the Grenelle de l’Environnement multi-party conference.  I appreciated the CSTB's skills and expertise.  It is an honour to work at CSTB, and a worthwhile continuation to my career.  It is also a major responsibility, considering the role that CSTB will play in its approach to buildings and towns with a view to satisfying new sustainable development challenges for, the environment and health.  We must face the immense "sustainable development project" defined by the Grenelle conference, in a context of world financial crisis, says Carole Le Gall.  CSTB will have to be a driving force and a reference body at the same time ."
